Abstract

This review briefly summarizes the main approaches to the use of polymers as materials for designing implants; components of biologically active systems; and systems employed in cell, tissue, and gene engineering; as materials for sorption and membrane-separation devices and bioanalytical systems, and as artificial biocatalysts and general-purpose biodegradable materials.
