Abstract

The hydrodynamic and conformational properties of the macromolecules of lignins derived from Secale sp. rye straw and Hordeum sp. barley straw were examined in dimethylformamide solutions. The molecular weights, centrifugal sedimentation coefficients, translational diffusion coefficients, and intrinsic viscosities of the polymers were determined. The fractal dimensions and Mark-Kuhn-Houwink scaling indices were calculated.
