Abstract

Specific features of the molecular-mass distribution of gaseous alkanes in the rocks of Lovozerskii alkaline massif, in particular, increase of the weight while temperature lowing during evolution of magmatic system and relatively higher contents of butanes, bearing in mind other geochemical and mineralogical data, indicate the possibility of hydrocarbon gas formation according to the Fisher-Tropsh type mechanism, which could be part of a more complicated multistage process, including oxidation and dehydrogenization reactions, heterogenic-catalytic polymerization, and condensation of hydrocarbons.
