Abstract

A Quaternary stratigraphic succession, sampled from the banks of the Stirone River (Emilia, North Italy), yielded two new Pleistocene gastropod species of Melanopsidae and Valvatidae, Melanopsis wilhelmi n. sp. and Valvata ducati n. sp., which are described here.
