A morphometric classification of solution dolines

Abstract
Solution dolines are typical surface features on karst terrain. Based on field surveys and detailed topographic mapping carried out by authors in the karst regions of Hungary, Austria, Croatia and Romania, their morphometry is characterised by area functions. After processing and statistically analysing the data, four doline types are identified from the parameters of the functions: 1) doline widening at rim and base; 2) doline widening at base; 3) doline widening at rim and 4) doline deepening but not widening.
Kurzfassung
Lösungsdolinen sind typische Oberflächenformen der Karstlandschaften. Auf der Basis von Geländearbeiten und Kartierungen in den Karstgebieten Ungarns, Österreichs, Kroatiens und Rumäniens konnten über statistische Auswertungen vier Typen ausgewiesen werden. 1. Dolinen, die sich am Rand und am Boden ausweiten. 2. Dolinen, die sich am Boden ausweiten. 3. Dolinen, die sich am Rand ausweiten. 4. Dolinen, die sich eintiefen, aber nicht ausweiten.
Résumé
A l'aide des ces cartes, nous avons répertorié les dolines par leurs équations de superficie. Notre étude s' est portée sur des terrains en Hongrie, en Autriche, en Croatie et en Roumanie. Par une analyse statistique des paramètres des équations, nous avons catégorié quatre types de dolines: les dolines qui s'élargissent au bord et au fond, les dolines qui s'élargissent au fond, les dolines qui s'élargissent au bord et celles qui s'approfondissent sans s'élargir.
