Abstract

Two lichenicolous fungi growing on Usnea have been studied. Phacopsis usneae C.W.Dodge seems to be a common species in Antarctica and adjacent areas; and a superficially similar species, Lecanora usneicola Etayo sp. nov. is described and compared. A key to the lecideoid fungi growing on Usnea with simple and hyaline ascospores is provided.
