Abstract

We have searched for the decay Ds+→φe+νe in data from the Fermilab charm photoproduction experiment E691. The resulting upper limit is B(Ds+→φe+νe)<0.45B(Ds+→φπ+). Since the branching fraction for Ds+→φe+νe can be calculated from the measured branching fraction B(D+K¯ *0e+νe) to be (1.7±0.3)%, this implies a 90%-confidence-level lower limit on B(Ds+→φπ+) of 3.4%.
