Abstract

I explain how conventional topological defects—the Abrikosov-Nielsen-Olesen string and domain walls—can acquire non-Abelian moduli localized on their world sheets. The setup is conceptually similar and generalizes that used by Witten for cosmic strings Witten [Nucl. Phys. B249, 557 (1985)].
