Scalar electrodynamics in Robertson-Walker universes

Abstract

Scalar electrodynamics in spatially flat Robertson-Walker metrics is considered. The first-order quantum corrections due to the coupling to the spacetime curvature are analyzed, and their effects upon the stability of the symmetric phase of the scalar field are discussed.
