Abstract
We present experimental evidence that when the dimensions of cyclohexane films are finite a new metastable phase is manifested. This was ascertained from comparative infrared measurements at 90<T<300 K on three different-sized films of cyclohexane, i.e., 20 nm, 126 nm, and 12 μm, geometrically restricted in ZnSe cylinders.
