Abstract
The dc, magnetoconductance of mesoscopic systems in a two-probe ring geometry in the tight-binding model is calculated in the framework of the linear-response formalism suited for studying finite open systems. Analytical results for ordered (simple and double) rings concerning the energy and magnetic-flux dependence of the conductance are presented. For disordered systems, numerical results are given, showing the influence of the impurities on the quantum interference pattern. Localization effects due to the disorder are also pointed out.
