Abstract
This paper spectroscopically characterizes elementary electronic excitations in . We have utilized pump-and-probe spectroscopic techniques which have identified a single transient spectrum subsequent to either pulsed optical or pulsed thermal excitation. Quantitative comparison of our results with studies of electrical transport allow the assignment of the spectroscopic transient to the intrinsic charge-carrying state. The experimental data is consistent with the conjecture of a polaronic charge-carrying state.
