Abstract

The two-body recombination rate of spin-polarized atomic hydrogen has been studied at fixed temperatures in low magnetic fields. Rates in excess of the surface rate are attributed to resonant recombination. The field dependence of the lifetime of the bound state has been approximated by the relation τ=τ0exp(-αB), and values for τ0 and α have been determined.
