Abstract
We develop three models which reproduce all of the most recent nucleon-nucleon data almost quantitatively. These models use the regularization technique in a fashion which is interpreted in terms of form factors for the nucleon-meson vertices. Two of the models incorporate recently established heavy scalar mesons: the (1016 MeV) and the (1070 MeV). The third model incorporates, as in prior work, mesons with the same mass as the vector mesons. The fits to all the nucleon-nucleon data are examined, and the results are compared with other models. It appears that one can incorporate very heavy scalar mesons and describe the nucleon-nucleon force quite precisely. Certain ambiguities in the experimental data and phenomenological phase shifts are discussed.
