Ion-Acoustic Instability of a Two-Temperature, Collisional, Fully Ionized Plasma

Abstract

From a perturbation analysis of the fluid equations for a homogeneous, unmagnetized plasma it is shown that long-wavelength ion waves are unstable when TeTi. The additional destabilizing effect of a current is also investigated.
