Abstract

With a resolution of 1010 J/°K the fluctuation heat capacity has been observed near Tc in thin films of Bi0.4Sb0.6. No indication of peaking was seen in the heat capacity near Tc. The heat-capacity transition when compared with the corrected resistivity transition is found to have approximately twice the width. This width is 3 times that predicted by Ferrell.
