Abstract
Contrary to the claims of P. Bender [preceding Comment, Phys. Rev. D 84, 028101 (2011).], we show that the effects discussed therein do not impose significant constraints on the design of atomic interferometer gravity wave detectors. These higher-order effects are subordinate to backgrounds discussed in S. Dimopoulos, et al. [Phys. Rev. D 78, 122002 (2008).], and can be mitigated with straightforward design approaches.
