Abstract
A previous proposal for a mixed-symmetry state in the O(6) nucleus is not supported by inelastic neutron scattering spectroscopic measurements. Instead it is suggested that the 2029- and 2088-keV levels share the properties of the lowest mixed-symmetry state of the neutron-proton interacting boson model.
