Abstract

A new glass electrode system, making use of high conductivity glass, is described. The E.M.F. is measured by a ballistic method. Electrostatic shielding and exceptional care in insulation are unnecessary, and determinations of hydrogen-ion concentration can be made in ½-1 minute with an accuracy of ± 0.01 pH.
