Abstract

The authors have used the classical molecular dynamics procedure to study the static structure factors of the equimolar liquid Na-K alloy at room temperature. A particularly striking feature of the results is the fact that the main peaks in SNaNa(k) and SKK(k) turn out to be decidedly asymmetric about the position of the peak height in contrast to the structure factors of the corresponding pure systems. This effect is qualitatively similar to that resulting from a hard-sphere calculation by Enderby and North (1968) and should be observable experimentally.
