Abstract

The transverse properties of a stationary turbulent plasma are analysed. The dispersion equation for the electromagnetic oscillations has been derived for the isotropic turbulence in terms of the turbulent wave amplitudes. It was found that the wave parameters depend on the relative propagation of the electromagnetic wave and the Langmuir turbulence. For the inverse propagation (k.K<0) it is possible that in turbulent plasmas, transverse oscillations with frequencies lower than the corresponding values in ordinary plasmas can occur, without an apparent lower bound. These oscillations could be responsible for the electromagnetic radiation of the collapsing plasma.
