Abstract
It is shown that the amplification of radiation in optically active media can be significantly enhanced by the presence of plasma waves or other excitations of the medium, e.g. iron-sound waves. It is pointed out that "zero energy waves" of the radiation may have a strong nonlinear interaction with ion-sound waves.
