Abstract
Measurements of O2+ recombination rates at translational temperatures between 600K and 2500K, obtained using the shock tube technique, are presented. They follow a T-0.63 dependence, with alpha having a value 1.14*10-7 cm3s-1 at 625K. It is concluded that ground vibrational state recombination was observed and this is discussed with reference to the GVS model of dissociative recombination.
