2007, Journal of InfectionCitation Excerpt :Some of these outbreaks have been characterized by using molecular biology techniques, such as PFGE or RAPD.2 However, the molecular biology analysis has been performed only in one case with strains not included in an outbreak.11 In this study, strains of M. fortuitum were analyzed with PFGE and showed different profiles, and no relationship between the different strains was demonstrated.
