  6. South Lorain is characterized by the highest poverty rates in Lorain county and is home to the largest number of Puerto Rican residents in Northeast Ohio. The area is also home to steel plants and other industrial jobs that were key sites of employment for Puerto Rican migrants beginning in the late 1940s.
