Abstract
The sense of entitlement carried by young people, and the concomitant inability to recognize that they are entitled to far less than they have been led to believe, is reflected in our educational system. My generation has failed its children miserably, producing ignorant and illiterate children. Some of this effort has been well meaning if misplaced and poorly enacted cultural sensitivity, but most of it has been driven by the psychotherapeutic metaphor.
