Abstract

Further phytochemical investigation of the roots of Ligularia sagitta afforded two new eremophilane sesquiterpene acids (1, 2), and from the roots of Ligularia nelumbifolia, two new guaiane sesquiterpenes (3, 4) were isolated. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including 2D NMR techniques and chemical transformations.
