Going in line with future challenges in neuropsychopharmacology and pharmacopsychiatry the program of the 29th symposium of the AGNP was planned as an innovative and up-to-date contribution to the European congress-landscape.

Accordingly, we found researchers and clinicians to submit abstracts for free communications and poster presentations representing a plethora of different topics and fields of scientific work ranging from molecular psychiatry to current aspects of the health care system. The abstracts printed in this issue of Pharmacopsychiatry demonstrate a broad spectrum of research work to be summerized under the name of modern psychiatry, and show the diversity of interests and working-fields of clinicians and scientists that will join us for the 29th AGNP symposium.

Numerous abstracts give insight into the narrow borders between different areas of neuropsychopharmacology and neurobiological psychiatry and reveal the necessity of interdisciplinary approaches to create timely evidence-based knowledge.

In addition to the established cornerstone-symposia of the meeting, free communications and poster presentations traditionally show cutting-edge scientific work and represent a base for intense discussion and inspiration for participants of the symposium and the opportunity to establish new collaborations.

In case you were not able to take part in this meeting we hope that you may get an impression of the diversity of current research presented. In case you will join us in Munich we would appreciate if you would find this abstract collection helpful for planning your individual 29th AGNP symposium.
