Ceftazidime Determination in Serum by High-pressure Liquid Chromatography

Summary

A rapid and sensitive high-pressure liquid chromatographic method with simple sample preparation was developed for the quantitative analysis of the β-lactam antibiotic ceftazidime (CAS 78439-06-2, Fortum®). A good linear relationship was established between the peak area and the amount of ceftazidime injected over a concentration range of 1 to 200 μg/ml. The detection limit of the method was calculated to be 0.9 μg/ml. Stability was shown at 4 °C and at -196 °C for time periods of 2 h and 84 days, respectively.

Bestimmung von Ceftazidim im Serum mittels Hochdruck-Flüssigkeitschromatographie

Es wurde eine schnelle und empfindliche hochdruckflüssigkeitschromatographische Methode (HPLC) mit einfacher Probenaufarbeitung zur Bestimmung des β-Laktam-Antibiotikums Ceftazidim (CAS 78439-06-2, Fortum®) entwickelt. Im Konzentrationsbereich 1-200 μg Ceftazidim/ml zeigte sich ein guter linearer Zusammenhang zwischen Peak-Fläche und injizierter Menge. Die Nachweisgrenze beträgt 0,9 μg/ml. Die Stabilität in Lösung bei 4 °C und bei -196 °C war für Zeiträume von 2 h bzw. 84 Tage gewährleistet
