Answer to: Image 3: Hemosuccus Pancreaticus
The EGD demonstrates the phenomenon of hemosuccus pancreaticus. This is a rare cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB). It should be considered as a cause of UGIB in patients with a history of chronic pancreatitis, complications of pancreatitis such as pseudocyst formation, or pancreatic tumors.
