Answer to: Image 5: Autoimmune Pancreatitis (Case 1) and Large B-cell Pancreatic Lymphoma (Case 2)
In the first case, the diagnosis of autoimmune pancreatitis was considered. Laboratory studies revealed normal serum levels of immunoglobulin (Ig)G4. Treatment was started using high-dose prednisone with rapid resolution of symptoms. Abdominal ultrasound reexamination performed 5 weeks later showed the pancreas reverting towards its normal dimensions (Figure C), as were the serum pancreatic enzymes. After withdrawal of steroid therapy, 2 flares of ulcerative colitis of moderate severity
