Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of [Mo(CO2)2(PMe3)3(CNPri)]: the first structurally characterized bis(carbon dioxide) adduct of a transition metal

Abstract

The reaction of trans-[Mo(CO2)2(PMe3)4] with isocyanides yields the new bis(carbon dioxide) complexes trans, mer-[Mo(CO2)2(CNR)(PMe3)3], (R = Me, Pri, or But); the structure of the isopropyl derivative [Mo(CO2)2(CNPri)(PMe3)3] has been determined by X-ray crystallography.
