Synthesis and X-ray structure of a complex containing two (η3-allyl)MoII units bridged by MoVIO42– and exhibiting an unusual type of aggregation

Abstract

Treatment of the [Mo(η3-C3H4Me)(bipy)(CO)2(Me2CO)]+ cation with an aqueous MoO42– solution enabled the first structural characterisation of an (η3-allyl)MoO complex, which aggregates to a dimer showing Mo[double bond, length half m-dash]O⋯H–C contacts in the solid state.
