Prospects for Carbon Fibres

Abstract

The relatively high price of composites reinforced with carbon fibres still means that they will only be used when their strength, stiffness and lightness are absolutely essential. But in the future, industries as diverse as the chemical industry and shipbuilding could reap the benefits of a cheaper product.
