Abstract
Young's Schema Questionnaire was developed toassist clinicians in the assessment of the cognitions, affects, and behaviours that underlie psychopathology. This study examined the properties of the Schema Questionnaire in an Australian clinicalpopulation (N = 433). In accordance with an earlierstudy, 16 factors, including 15 of the original scalesproposed by Young, emerged as primary components. Ahigher-order factor analysis was also found to closelyresemble the classification system proposed by Young. This solution is shown to fit well with existing modelsof psychopathology.
