Recently, SFTs/HPCs that arise at extrapleural sites, such as the abdomen and pelvis, extremities, orbit, sinonasal cavity, central nervous system, and head and neck,2,5-9 have been intensely studied. SFTs/HPCs arising from the spine are extremely rare; to our knowledge, approximately 28 cases of spinal SFTs/HPCs have been reported in English publications since 2000, and most of those studies are case reports.10-24 Because of its rarity, the clinical and imaging characteristics of spinal SFTs/HPCs are still largely unknown.
