Abstract

Along with the rapid development of communication technologies, information exchange becomes more easily than before. In order to improve the services quality of energy, energy Internet of Things (IoT) is needed which aims to connect all the power devices in the world and provide convenient service. The basics of the energy IoT is the access network which is used to solve the “last mile” problem. In China, power wireless private network (PWPN) gains lots of attention in recent days due to the strict requirements of power industry on security. Private network is a good way to achieve high quality services and guarantee the security. In this paper, we focus on the narrowband IoT technologies (NB-IoT and LoRa) and analyze their coverage and capacity in PWPN scenario. In addition, we also provide some road test results to verify our analysis. The results show that both NB-IoT and LoRa can achieve deep coverage and large coverage which means they are suit for the latency tolerant services in the PWPN.
