R Rh<inf>2</inf>Al<inf>10</inf> (R= Ce, Yb): New intermetallic compounds in the 1:2:10 stoichiometry series
2018, Physica B: Condensed MatterCrystal structure and low-temperature properties of a novel cerium stannide Ce<inf>3</inf>RuSn<inf>6</inf>
2016, Journal of Alloys and CompoundsCitation Excerpt :Among these phases, several ternary compounds with noble metals and p-elements have been comprehensively studied due to their unique behaviors. In the system Ce–Ru–Sn, five ternaries have been reported to date: heavy fermion systems CeRuSn3 [2–4] and Ce3Ru4Sn13 [5,6], Kondo insulator CeRu4Sn6 [6–10], valence fluctuator CeRuSn [11–14], and putative ferrimagnet Ce13Ru2Sn5 [15]. In this paper, we report for the first time on the formation of a novel ternary compound from the Ce–Ru–Sn system, namely Ce3RuSn6, describe its crystal structure and its low-temperature physical properties.
The new cerium-rich intermetallic phase Ce<inf>13</inf>Ru<inf>2</inf>Sn<inf>5</inf>: Crystal structure and physical properties
2015, Journal of Alloys and CompoundsCitation Excerpt :The short reviews considering Ce–Ru-based intermetallics with the shortened Ce–Ru distances may be found in [13,14]. The ternary system with T = Ru and X = Sn, Ce–Ru–Sn, has not been systematically studied so far, although the crystal structures and physical properties data have been published for the compounds CeRuSn (shortened Ce–Ru distances, valence fluctuations) [7,8,15], CeRu4Sn6 (heat capacity and electro-conductivity anomaly) [16,17], and CeRuSn3 (Ce3Ru4Sn13, heavy-fermion behavior) [18–20]. The title Ce-rich compound, Ce13Ru2Sn5, was found and then reported by us on the 14th European Congress on Solid State Chemistry (July 2013, Bordeaux, France) [21].
