Radiology’s Hashtag Ontology

In January of 2015, after collaboration among 17 individuals (including radiologists, patients, radiation oncologists, and industry representatives), the Radiology hashtag ontology was created (Table 1). This is similar to work that has been done in other specialties, most notably oncology [5]. This is akin to storing data in a time capsule, ready to be reviewed by current and future generations of veteran and rookie learners alike (13). Attaching a university's name to a public teaching file also has many advantageous outcomes for both learners and the university.
