The upper-airway microbiome as a biomarker of asthma exacerbations despite inhaled corticosteroid treatment
2023, Journal of Allergy and Clinical ImmunologyCitation Excerpt :Additionally, here we also found a protective effect of Capnocytophaga in asthma exacerbations despite receipt of ICS in noninvasive samples such as saliva, which may reflect the lung dysbiosis described in the literature. Capnocytophaga abundance in lower airways has been previously associated with improved asthma control and reduced severe asthma risk.27,28 The salivary abundance of Capnocytophaga has also shown a protective effect on asthma susceptibility.19
Cytokine responses in nonlesional psoriatic skin as clinical predictor to anti-TNF agents
2022, Journal of Allergy and Clinical ImmunologyPersistence of Inflammatory Phenotype in Residual Psoriatic Plaques in Patients on Effective Biologic Therapy
2020, Journal of Investigative DermatologyCitation Excerpt :We cannot exclude that differences between groups were present before therapy, as this study is cross-sectional. Recent work has shown that psoriasis is heterogeneous with large variations in gene expression between individuals (Tsoi et al., 2018). A comparison of pretreatment lesions from the same site would strengthen our conclusions.
