An MPEC approach for the critical post-collapse behavior of rigid-plastic structures

Highlights
► Critical post-collapse response of rigid-plastic structures is directly traced using minimum 2nd-order work criterion. ► Enhanced sequential limit analysis is proposed and formulated as an MPEC. ► Nonlinear programming based algorithm involving relaxation of complementarity constraints is adopted to solve the MPEC.
