Commentary The authors describe a case of a young woman with overt GI bleeding resulting from a deceptive Dieulafoy lesion in the colon. In 1898, the French surgeon Paul Georges Dieulafoy reported the first cases of “exulceratio simplex” in 10 patients with massive life-threatening bleeding caused by vascular gastric lesions.
