Abstract

We present the basic analytical and algebraic properties of triangular norms. We discuss continuity as well as the important classes of Archimedean, strict and nilpotent t-norms. Triangular conorms and De Morgan triples are also mentioned. Finally, a brief historical survey on triangular norms is given.

Separable programming problem with bipolar max-T fuzzy relation equation constraints

One of the most important classes of nonlinear programming problems is separable programming problem due to its applications in theory and practice. This paper studies this class of the problems subject to a system of bipolar fuzzy relation equations using the max-T composition operator, where T is a continuous and Archimedean t-norm. Its feasible solution set structure is determined by two vectors called lower and upper bound vector of its feasible domain. It is shown that there exists an optimal solution for the problem with max-continuous and Archimedean t-norm such that its components are the corresponding components of either the lower or upper bound vector. Based on the interesting property, some sufficient conditions are proposed to detect some of its optimal components or one of its optimal solutions. These conditions can reduce the dimensions of the original problem when some its optimal components are determined. The objective function of the reduced problem is equivalently rewritten in a specific form. This form guides us to design a value matrix based on the characteristic matrix and ascending or descending of univariate functions constituting the objective function. An approach is extended on the matrix to find the optimal solution of the (reduced) problem. It is important to note that a number of problems can completely be solved using the sufficient conditions.
Decision algorithm for picture fuzzy sets and Aczel Alsina aggregation operators based on unknown degree of wights

Aggregation operators (AOs) are well-known and efficient mathematical tools that are utilized to overcome the impact of imprecise and vague information during the aggregation process. The theoretical concepts of Aczel Alsina aggregation expressions are an extension of triangular norms and become a hot research topic in the environment of the fuzzy framework. The power operators provide a smooth approximation and are used to mitigate the influence of redundant or insufficient information on the attributes or criteria. Some robust aggregation approaches are developed by combining two different theories, like power operators and Aczel Alsina aggregation tools. This article aims to explore the theory of picture fuzzy sets (PFSs), an extended version of fuzzy sets, and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Some robust operations of Aczel Alsina aggregation tools are also present in light of the picture fuzzy environment. We established a class of new methodologies in the light of picture fuzzy information, including picture fuzzy Aczel Alsina power weighted average (PFAAPWA) and picture fuzzy Aczel Alsina power ordered weighted average (PFAAPOWA) operators. We also developed an appropriate approach like picture fuzzy Aczel Alsina power weighted geometric (PFAAPWG) and picture fuzzy Aczel Alsina power ordered weighted geometric (PFAAPOWG) operators. Notable properties and characteristics of proposed methodologies are also demonstrated. Our invented approaches not only aggregate complicated information but can clearly define interrelationships among several arguments. Moreover, we establish an algorithm for the multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) problem to handle the impact of redundant and vague information on human opinions. Finally, we study an experimental case study to evaluate an appropriate optimal option from available options. To reveal consistency and effectiveness of developed approaches, influence study by changing various parametric values and comparative study by comparing results of existing approaches.
A consensus model considers managing manipulative and overconfident behaviours in large-scale group decision-making

When dealing with large-scale group decision-making problems, the central emphasis lies in the objective and rational acquisition of a collective opinion acceptable to the majority of decision makers. Manipulative and overconfident behaviours are two common behaviours that make the decision results deviate from the objective facts in the decision-making process. To manage manipulative and overconfident behaviours in decision-making, this paper investigated a novel consensus model based on social networks. A novel efficient clustering model is first proposed in the model, in which the subgroups' combined cohesion is considered. Furthermore, for the manipulative behaviour of decision makers, we proposed an improved method for the identification and management based on trust relationships. In the consensus reaching process, we proposed a new identification mechanism to promote consensus reaching effectively. In the feedback mechanism, the social network DeGroot model is employed to adjust the opinions of decision makers. Moreover, a management approach is proposed for the overconfident behaviour of decision makers in the social network DeGroot model. Lastly, the feasibility and applicability of the proposed model are verified by an illustrative example. Simulation experiments and comparative analysis demonstrate the effectiveness of the model in facilitating consensus reaching.
Fermatean fuzzy Archimedean Heronian Mean-Based Model for estimating sustainable urban transport solutions

Public transportation frameworks assume a critical role in the metropolitan region, especially in huge urban communities, where they offer a feasible answer for easing gridlock, moderating commotion contamination, and diminishing ${CO}_{2}$ discharges. This paper presents some novel Fermatean fuzzy Heronian mean operators based on Archimedean $t$ -norms, specifically the generalized Fermatean fuzzy Archimedean Heronian mean (GFFAHM) and the Fermatean fuzzy Archimedean geometric Heronian mean (FFAGHM). The study investigates different unique instances of these operators while exploring their essential properties. Besides, a powerful multiattribute decision-making (MADM) method is developed using the proposed operators. This approach offers a key asset for handling complex decision-making problems. Overcoming the capabilities of conventional BM operators, the GFFAHM and FFAGHM operators effectively minimize the potential redundancy in interrelationships during the decision-making process. The inclusion of the flexible parameters $ρ$ and $ϕ$ , which have a big impact on the decision-making process’ outcomes, increases the adaptability and resilience of the Archimedean $t$ -based operators. To depict the feasibility of the proposed MADM method, a thorough quantitative model is introduced, outlining its useful execution. Through an exhaustive case study, the predominance of the proposed approach over existing strategies is experimentally established. Remarkably, the study uncovers that reducing fares is the most compelling factor in expanding the public transport framework, subsequently advancing sustainable urban transport. This study’s findings provide useful insights into decision-making processes and practical implications for policymakers, allowing them to make informed and impactful changes to the public transportation system. The proposed MADM method can play a vital role in upgrading the public transport framework, making way for remarkable strategy interventions in urban transport sustainability.
Leakage failure probability assessment of submarine pipelines using a novel pythagorean fuzzy bayesian network methodology

Obtaining precise and adequate failure data can be challenging in the probabilistic risk assessment of process industries, like submarine pipelines. This study proposes a novel approach, the Pythagorean fuzzy Bayesian network methodology, to tackle the challenge of obtaining prior data in the assessment of leakage risk in submarine pipelines. First, the qualitative evaluation of experts is converted by Pythagorean fuzzy sets. Next, the enhanced Pythagorean trapezoidal fuzzy Einstein hybrid geometric operator is integrated with the subject-objective weighting approach to consolidate the expert opinions in order to obtain prior probabilities. Following this, the leaky Noisy-OR gate in the Bayesian network is utilized to access the conditional probabilities, which depict the uncertain logical connection of events. Ultimately, the Bayesian network is utilized for inference and analysis to anticipate the probability of system failure and detect any vulnerabilities. Furthermore, a case study is performed to demonstrate the practicality of the approach. The reliability of the methodology is verified by results comparison and analysis. The suggested approach and evaluation findings can offer valuable guidance for the safety supervision of the submarine pipeline network.
Fuzzy correlational analysis for dynamic consolidation of virtual machines in cloud computing environment

This theoretical research in fuzzy correlation analysis integrates data uncertainty analysis by measuring the strength of the linear relationship restricted to two fuzzy sets. As the relevant contribution to this research area, this paper presents the axiomatic definition of the n-dimensional generalized fuzzy correlation coefficient (nGCC), assigning to n input fuzzy sets an output value in the interval [−1,1]. Thus, the properties of general overlap functions and fuzzy negations are studied, discussing binary non-normed restricted dissimilarity functions, and the n-dimensional non-normed conjunctive functions. This study provides new methods for the n-dimensional generalized fuzzy correlation coefficient analysis, regarding their applications in solving multi-criteria and decision-making problems founded on fuzzy logic extensions. The n-dimensional non-normed conjunctive aggregation functions are also introduced, as range domain extensions from [0,1] to [−1.1], covering the interpretation of negative to positive variable associations. The proposal correlation analysis promotes a better evaluation and data selection even when more than one algorithm is applied to evaluate the reduction methods in the defuzzification process based on Interval-valued Fuzzy Logic. We also investigate the relevance to determine a reliable result from the fuzzy inference system based on the nGCC methodology. This correlation methodology applied to the Interval Fuzzy Load Balancing for Cloud Computing (Int-FLBCC) model contributes as a flexible approach for virtual machines dynamic consolidation enabling improvements in resource usage and power efficiency, improving the computational system’s energy efficiency. So, the nGCC methodology extends the Int-FLBCC model by adding other degrees of reliability to the results obtained with diverse evaluations through n-dimensional generalized fuzzy correlation coefficient expressions, exploring average aggregations as arithmetic and exponential means and the median operator.
