Professor Karakoc was born in 1959. He graduated from Anadolu University, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in 1980. He received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yildiz Technical University of Istanbul, in 1982. He received his Ph.D. degree from Anadolu University of Eskisehir, in 1987. Professor Karakoc was born in 1959. He graduated from Anadolu University, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in 1980. He received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yildiz Technical University of Istanbul, in 1982. He received his Ph.D. degree from Anadolu University of Eskisehir, in 1987. He started his full-time teaching at Anadolu University where he is now a Professor. He became an Assistant Professor and an Associate Professor, in 1988 and 1992, respectively. He received his full Professorship in 1997 from Anadolu University in Eskisehir. He has a wide range of research interests, some of his interest topics are “Sustainable Aviation, Aircraft Propulsion System, Insulation, Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Indoor Air Quality, Gas Turbines, Cogeneration Systems, Renewable Energy, Energy Economics, Fuels and Combustion”. He has taken part in numerous Industrial Projects on these topics as researcher, consultant and project manager. He served as a consultant more than corporation 20. He also started a contest on special insulation applications (tall buildings, hospitals, historical buildings, etc.) among the university students. He also served as an Editor-in Chief for main journal on HVAC sector in Turkey. He published national and international papers over 200 and 25 books. He is an active member of Chamber of Mechanical Engineers and many sectorial associations, various international scientific organizations and societies. He is also Editor-in Chief for International Journal of Sustainable Aviation.

Adnan Midilli is a Professor at the Marine Engineering Department of the Turgut Kiran Maritime College of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Turkey. Between1993–2010, he worked in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of Nigde University, Nigde, Turkey. He has authored/co-authored books and book chapters, many journal and conference papers and numerous technical reports. He has chaired many conferences, symposia, workshops and technical meetings. He is an active member of various international scientific organizations and societies and serves as the Associate Editor and Editorial Board member of various prestigious international journals. He is a recipient of several research, teaching and service awards. He has been an active researcher and supervisor. His research areas include energy and sustainability.

Onder Turan is an Assistant Professor in the School of Civil Aviation. He completed his BSc in 1998 and his MSc in 2000 from the School of Civil Aviation and the Graduate School of Sciences at Anadolu University, respectively. He received his PhD in 2007.
