Discussion

Iatrogenic perforations that occur during endoscopic procedures are generally managed surgically, even if some providers prefer a nonsurgical approach. The risk of morbidity and mortality is limited only in selected cases.1 Recently, increasingly invasive endoscopic therapies, such as natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery, provided an impetus for progress in endoscopic closure techniques2 especially when an OTSC (OVESCO, Endoscopy, Tübingen, Germany) was developed.
