Inhibition of lipopolysaccharide-induced inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 expression by xanthanolides isolated from Xanthium strumarium
Graphical abstract
Three sesquiterpenoids from Xanthium strumarium (1, 2 and 3) inhibited the production of NO (IC50 = 0.47, 11.2, 136.5 μM, respectively), expression of iNOS/COX-2 and degradation of I-κB-α in activated microglia.
