2021, Molecular Aspects of MedicineCitation Excerpt :In the same way, in silico virtual screening of commercial compound libraries against staphylococcal SrtA also identified new inhibitors (Chenna et al., 2008). Further, similar screening of natural products has also identified new inhibitors, many of which were isolated from aquatic organisms (Chenna et al., 2008; Jang et al., 2007; Jung et al., 2008; Kang et al., 2006; Kim et al., 2003, 2004; Maresso and Schneewind, 2008; Oh et al., 2004, 2006; Park et al., 2005; Suree et al., 2007). Compounds with pyridazinone and pyrazolethione scaffolds identified via high-throughput screening were also effective against SrtA (Suree et al., 2009).

2020, Tetrahedron LettersCitation Excerpt :Finally, compound 4, a Staphylococcus aureus Sortase A inhibitor, is a promising antibacterial agent [5] (Fig. 1). The research on anthranilic acid (2-aminobenzoic acid) began with its isolation from indigo by Fritzsche in 1841 [6]. Anthranilic acid was industrially synthesized from phthalic anhydride, available through oxidation of o-xylene via phthalamide [7].
