Patterns of molecular structure, regulation, and distribution of adhesion molecules are discussed in this chapter. Special attention is given to integrin receptors and their ligands, including cyclic arginine-glycine-aspartic acid peptide and its various actions. The role of leukocyte integrins and other adhesion molecules in their trafficking and contribution to renal disease is discussed.
