This N-linked glycosylation partly regulates the intracellular transport of LOX-1 to the cell surface and the subsequent binding of oxLDL [44,45]. Analysis of human recombinant LOX-1 showed only one glycosylation site on asparagine 139 (Asn-139) [16,46].
