2024, Materials Today BioA novel Streptomyces strain isolated by functional bioprospecting for laccases
2021, Process BiochemistryCitation Excerpt :A bootstrap analysis with 1000 replicates was performed to ascertain the reliability of clusters. DNA-DNA hybridization was carried out in duplicate as described by De Ley et al. [42] with modifications described by Huss et al. [43] using a model Cary 100 Bio UV/VIS-spectrophotometer equipped with a Peltier-thermostated 6 × 6 multicell changer and a temperature controller with in-situ temperature probe (Varian) (DSMZ, Germany). The strain is available from the DMSZ collection under accession number DSM 106,822 and from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) collection under accession number TSD-143.
Saccharopolyspora karakumensis sp. nov., Saccharopolyspora elongata sp. nov., Saccharopolyspora aridisoli sp. nov., Saccharopolyspora terrae sp. nov. and their biotechnological potential revealed by genome analysis
2021, Systematic and Applied MicrobiologyCitation Excerpt :Tree topologies were assessed by bootstrapping method with 1000 replicates [61]. DNA–DNA hybridization was performed spectrophotometrically by DNA reassociation kinetics as described by De Ley and Tijtgat [62] following the modifications described by Huss et al. [63]. Genomic DNAs from S. spongiae DSM 103218T and strains 5K548T, 16K309T and 16K404T were prepared according to the method of Marmur [64]; the purity and quality of each DNA preparation was checked by determination of the absorbance ratios at 260/280 nm (1.8–1.9) and 260/230 nm (2.0–2.3) and by the melting curves, which include hyperchromicity values from 30 to 40% [65].
A novel Thermotoga strain TFO isolated from a Californian petroleum reservoir phylogenetically related to Thermotoga petrophila and T. naphthophila, two thermophilic anaerobic isolates from a Japanese reservoir: Taxonomic and genomic considerations
2020, Systematic and Applied MicrobiologyCitation Excerpt :DNA in the crude lysate was purified by chromatography on hydroxyapatite as described by Cashion et al. [5]. DNA–DNA hybridization was carried out as described by De Ley et al. [33] under consideration of the modifications described by Huss et al. [22] using a model Cary 100 Bio UV/VIS-spectrophotometer equipped with a Peltier-thermostatted 6 × 6 multicell changer and a temperature controller with in-situ temperature probe (Varian). Genomic DNA of the isolate TFO was extracted and purified following manufacturer’s instructions (Masterpure DNA isolation kit, Epicenter).
